WWE’s developmental cuts are still rolling, and Anya Rune is now the latest name out.
Sean Ross Sapp revealed on September 4, 2026 that Rune is part of WWE’s latest round of cuts, adding another young talent to a list that has continued growing throughout the night.
Rune, whose real name is Airica Demia, entered WWE’s system after taking part in the company’s February 2026 tryouts in Orlando. WWE later connected her with the Anya Rune name before she started getting television time through WWE Evolve.
She quickly became part of the Evolve women’s division, competing in a Fatal 4-Way for a spot in the vacant Evolve Women’s Championship match and later wrestling names including Layla Diggs, Zena Sterling and Skylar Raye. Now that run is over before Rune ever got the chance to move into a regular NXT role.
The WWE releases confirmed so far include:
Rune hadn’t been in WWE for very long, but the company had already started getting her reps on Evolve and putting her in the mix with other developmental prospects. Instead of that turning into something bigger, she’s now the seventh confirmed name out in this round of cuts. WWE’s developmental roster keeps getting thinner by the hour, and Anya Rune is the latest prospect shown the door. With names still coming out, there’s no telling yet where this list finally stops.
