Nathan Cruz has shared an unfortunate update with fans after his recent appearances for AEW and ROH. The British wrestler revealed he has undergone surgery and is now beginning the road to recovery.

Cruz posted the update on Instagram on September 16, sharing a photo of himself from a hospital bed with his arm in a cast, suggesting he had undergone surgery for an arm injury. Alongside the image, Cruz kept his message short.

“Surgery done. Road back begins ✌🏽”

Cruz hasn’t revealed exactly when the injury happened or how long he’s expected to be out, but the update comes just weeks after he stepped into an AEW ring before the August 26 edition of Dynamite in Glasgow.

Before AEW went live on TBS and HBO Max, the company gave the Scottish crowd an untelevised dark match featuring hometown favorite Grado against Cruz. Grado defeated Cruz in the match, giving the live audience a surprise appearance that never aired on television.

The outing was another appearance for Cruz under the AEW and ROH banner. Throughout 2026, he has regularly worked dark matches and ROH tapings, sharing the ring with names including Action Andretti, Lio Rush, Josh Woods, Adam Brooks and QT Marshall while continuing to build his name with the company.

Cruz has not announced a timetable for his return, but his latest post makes one thing clear. Surgery is behind him, and his focus has already shifted toward getting back in the ring.
