Je’Von Evans, who recently joined WWE under the NXT brand, made his in-ring debut on NXT television. However, his debut was overshadowed by unexpected controversy when Kevin Scampolli, a commentator and personality, made a derogatory comment referring to Evans as a “slave.” Thankfully, many WWE stars and fans came to his aid and now Evans has shown appreciation for the same.

Je’Von Evans has been making a strong impression on NXT Level Up in recent weeks, and on the April 9 episode of NXT TV, he had his highly anticipated in-ring debut. Evans faced off against SCRYPTS in a singles match and emerged victorious, showcasing his skills and solidifying his place on the NXT roster.

Unfortunately, Evans’ success was marred by offensive and inappropriate comments made by Kevin Scampoli on his podcast. Scampoli referred to Je’Von Evans as a “slave” during Evans’ NXT interview, which is not only derogatory but also completely unacceptable. Such language and remarks have no place in any context, especially when discussing a young talent in professional wrestling.

”Look at the panic in his face. ‘The director said wrap it up! I’m in trouble.’ This is f**** pathetic. That’s a wrestler to you? Someone who’s scared of a f****** little white dude in a suit, a jew? You’re a slave, not a wrestler. That’s a slave face. You’re deadnaming him Gino, he’s Je’Von Evans him, he’s a slave. He ain’t the free man you fell in love with.

Thankfully, many NXT stars came to Evans’ support and blasted Scampoli. In light of all the controversy and support that followed, Evans took to Twitter and thanked everyone for the support but then shifted his focus to the NXT Live Event in Venice, Florida.

”I Appreciate Everyone For The Support But Let’s Get Back To Work…VENICE, FL!!! I’ll See Ya’ll Tonight For #WWELIVE!! Ya’ll Pullin Up??👀”

We certainly hope Je’Von uses this controversy to propel himself to a whole different level and show people such as Kevin Scampoli that he will be undeterred by his racist remarks.

Are you glad that Je’Von Evans didn’t let Kevin Scampoli’s remarks get to him? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!
