CM Punk’s arrival in AEW was met with immense anticipation, with many expecting great things from his tenure in the company. However, his journey took an unexpected turn when he was released last year, leaving fans surprised. However, it appears that Tony Khan still holds Jack Perry accountable for costing him CM Punk.

In 2021, CM Punk made waves by joining AEW, quickly becoming prominent figure. He clinched the AEW World Championship at Double or Nothing 2022, but his reign was hindered by injuries and a suspension following a controversial incident at AEW All Out 2022.

Despite a comeback in June 2023, an incident involving Jack Perry led to his contract termination. However, Punk shocked fans with comeback to WWE at Survivor Series 2023, signaling a new phase in his career.

As for Jack Perry, he would make his way to NJPW, where he is now known as ‘The Scapegoat’ and competed in the New Japan Cup. He debuted in NJPW by tearing up an AEW contract, which made fans wonder if he and AEW are on bad terms.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Jack Perry hasn’t been fired from AEW, but he’s currently not being utilized. Meltzer suggests that Tony Khan is upset with Perry because he believes Perry’s actions led to the departure of CM Punk, and Perry is receiving the blame for it.

“He has not been fired. He’s absolutely not been fired, but they’re not using him. Essentially, Tony’s really mad at him because he cost him CM Punk. He’s getting the blame. “He probably should have been suspended for a month or two. Where are we at, seven months now? Seven months. It’s ridiculous. The punishment doesn’t fit the crime at this point.”

Jack Perry even insinuated that he asked for his AEW release. The future of Jack Perry remains uncertain after his recent surprising actions in New Japan Pro Wrestling, leaving fans eager to see what comes next for the young talent.
