Jack Perry’s unexpected appearance at last month’s Battle in the Valley event brought joy to AEW fans, and anticipation grew for his NJPW in-ring debut on March 6th. The match indeed took place, and Perry secured a victory in his inaugural NJPW appearance. Following the match, Perry insinuated that he had requested his release from AEW.

During this week’s NJPW event as part of the New Japan Cup Tournament, Jack Perry made his in-ring debut against Shota Umino. The match was evenly contested, with both competitors putting forth their best efforts to secure the victory. Ultimately, Jack Perry emerged triumphant, defeating Umino with the assistance of Ren Narita.

Surprisingly, after the match concluded, Jack Perry aligned himself with The House of Torture, leaving fans in shock at this unexpected turn of events. While speaking in a backstage interview after the bout, Jack Perry made it clear he felt amazing after his first match in six months.

Jack Perry would then make some bold claims regarding his time in AEW, as he seemingly insinuated that he asked for his AEW release but wasn’t granted his release from the company.

I feel amazing. You want to know why? I haven’t had a wrestling match in six months. Just for a point of reference, through the absolute worst time in my entire life, I took one month, for me. Now, why six months? It ain’t because of me. It’s because other people are afraid. Nobody wants to have the difficult conversations. Everyone is afraid to let me come back, or even let me go, even when I f***** asked for it. I get it. Nobody wants to look in the mirror, so they need somebody to pin up on a cross so they can go about their daily lives and act like nothing ever happened. That’s over now. There are a very select handful of people in the world who still have my back. Tonight, I think I found a few more.”

We will have to wait and see what the future holds for the young Jack Perry, as he certainly managed to turn heads with his recent actions in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
