CM Punk’s WWE return at Survivor Series was highly anticipated, and fans were quickly treated to his thoughts. He hasn’t picked an opponent just yet, but there are plenty of options.
Ringside News exclusively reported about CM Punk having his time cut durign his return promo. We also noted why CM Punk didn’t have a producer for his segment on the November 27th episode of WWE RAW.
WWE is also cashing in on Punk’s return with slew of new merchandise. All of this revolves around the ring, and with WrestleMania 40 on the horizon, fans are placing their bets.
According to Bookies.com, the current favorite to face CM Punk at WWE WrestleMania 40 is Seth Rollins, with odds of +200. Other strong contenders include Drew McIntyre at +450, Roman Reigns at +550, and Kevin Owens at +650. It’s worth noting that there were previous reports of a potential Punk vs. Owens feud during WWE WrestleMania 39 season when Punk’s future with AEW was uncertain.
Outside of these likely options, there are some long-shot picks, such as Ryback at +1000, Brock Lesnar at +1300, and John Cena at +1400. Notably, CM Punk has already had matches against all three of these wrestlers on pay-per-view in the past.
These odds provide a glimpse into the potential matchups that could take place at WWE WrestleMania 40, with Seth Rollins currently leading the pack as the favored opponent for CM Punk.
These are simply betting odds, so it’s the most likely result of the situation, according to oddsmakers. In the end, the creative decision for CM Punk’s direction in WWE is up to Triple H.
Ringside News exclusively reported that, while he is a “free agent,” CM Punk is “assigned” to the RAW brand. That makes a rivalry with any red brand talent, like Seth Rollins, much more likely.
There is also a story that is already written for Seth Rollins and CM Punk. After all, Rollins called Punk “cancer” and to “stay away” not too long ago. Only time will tell if Triple H goes that direction, but a WWE World Heavyweight Title match at WrestleMania 40 isn’t out of the question.
