CM Punk’s run in WWE came to a shocking conclusion after the Royal Rumble in 2014 when he was frustrated with the company, leading him to simply walk out. He didn’t compete in a ring for seven years until his AEW debut in 2021. There are also rumors that he could return to WWE, but it seems Seth Rollins doesn’t want him back at all.
CM Punk was the subject of controversy earlier this year, and things took a turn for the worse after the brawl at AEW All Out. Since then, fans have wondered whether Punk will leave AEW and somehow return to WWE.
CM Punk even dropped a strange WWE-themed post while he remains absent from AEW television, recuperating from an injury. Regardless, many people don’t want him back in WWE.
In an interview with Wrestling Inc Senior News Editor Nick Hausman ahead of the Royal Rumble, Seth Rollins was asked if he would like to see Punk return to WWE. Rollins simply called CM Punk ‘a cancer’ and said he should stay away from WWE.
Oh Philly, Phil stay away … stay away, you cancer, get away from me forever. I don’t like Phil. I don’t like Phil. Did we just figure that out? He’s a jerk. Oh, we just figured that out over there, we don’t want him over here. Go do something else, bu-bye.
CM Punk’s possible WWE return is also greatly opposed within the company. Triple H was also strongly warned against signing CM Punk. Regardless, we’ll have to see what will become of CM Punk in the end.
