The Viking Raiders haven’t been seen on WWE television as a duo in quite some time. The company is pushing Ivar on his own, and there is a reason for that. Erik is out of action, and he needed neck fusion surgery, so he will be out of action for quite some time.

Erik is currently in recovery following fusion surgery. It was unknown when he would go under the knife, but it appears that happened for the tag team specialist.

On November 1st, Erik made an announcement on Instagram regarding his recent C6/C7 neck fusion surgery. He expressed his gratitude to the medical team and WWE, confirming that the surgery was successful, and he is now commencing his recovery process.

I cannot express the proper gratitude and thankfulness to the amazing Dr Cordover and his incredible staff at @andrews_sports_medicine and St Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, AL and to @wwe for always making sure I have the best care possible.

C6 / C7 fusion surgery was successful and recovery begins now.

I’m excited for all the possibilities once my cybernetic upgrades come fully online.

Erik last appeared in a wrestling match on the September 14th episode of WWE Main Event, which was recorded on September 11th. While he was scheduled to compete on the September 18th episode of WWE Raw, he was ultimately unable to participate.

Since then, Erik has remained absent from in-ring action, with no singles matches. During the October 2nd episode of WWE Raw, Wade Barrett mentioned that Erik would be taking an extended break.

We’re sending out our best to Erik as he recovers from his setback in his career. For more on this story, and so much more, please keep checking back with us here at Ringside News.
