WWE fans are used to the Viking Raiders, and some even remember them as War Machine prior to their run with the company. Of course, they were known as the War Raiders in NXT, but right now they’re not appearing as a team on television. There is a good reason for that.

Ivar has wrestled on his own for a while now, taking on the New Day in singles matches. It turns out that Raymond Rowe is actually injured, and he had surgery. That means Ivar will be without a partner for the next six months.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that it is WWE’s intention to keep Ivar on television as a singles star for now. This is different from how WWE used to handle this kind of situation.

The decision was made because Ray Rowe is out after surgery, said to be for at least six months, is to push Ivar as a singles player. In the past when one member of a tag team that’s usually an exclusive team gets hurt, they’ve just not used the other much.

WWE used to keep both members of a team off television whenever one of them was hurt. When Ivar suffered a cervical injury years ago, that is what happened to the team. Now, it appears that Triple H is going to find a way to use Ivar during Rowe’s absence.

Only time will tell if this changes the booking direction for the team. Ivar is a great talent, and he may find success on his own. Hopefully, Raymond Rowe can repair himself fast after his surgery and make a return to television, so they can pick up where they left off.
