WWE Doesn’t Seem Interested In Signing CM Punk

CM Punk and AEW had an explosive end to their working relationship. Now that CM Punk is a free agent, many fans are wondering if he will pop up in WWE once again. That isn’t looking very likely at this juncture, because WWE doesn’t seem interested.

WWE and UFC’s merger went down today, and now they are under one TKO Holdings Group banner. CM Punk could be a big boost of interest, but doesn’t WWE really need the help?

Marc Raimondi spoke with WWE President Nick Khan recently, along with UFC COO Lawrence Epstein. During that conversation, Raimondi asked about WWE’s interest in signing CM Punk. That is when Nick Khan set the record straight about how they feel about the Second City Savior coming in.

“Listen, we only have respect for Phil. We appreciate his run here. We appreciate what he did and tried to do with the UFC. Not many people can actually get in there and do what he did. So, when we have respect for Phil, we wish him nothing but the best.”

WWE and UFC might even run package deal when they’re pitching events for cities. There are lot of possibilities down the line, because both companies bring a ton of money to the table. That being said, WWE has tons of money coming in with their own ongoing television talks, so that part of the business is likely to remain separate.

Ringside News exclusively reported that CM Punk wants fans to think that WWE is an option for him, but that’s not the case. He made “desperate attempts” at WWE return a few years ago, and WWE had to tell FOX that he needed to be “controlled” on the WWE Backstage show, where he had a gig as an analyst.

We will have to see what the future holds for CM Punk, but he might have options for him as well. We previously reported that Impact Wrestling is intrigued by the idea of making an offer to CM Punk. There is also the possibility that he could show up in the NWA and challenge for their World Title.

The new TKO Holdings Group is set to take off with all the steam and momentum they can right out of the gate. WWE and UFC will also be massive when it comes to cashflow. Through this whole merger, Triple H will also keep his position in WWE as Chief Content Officer. It is also expected that WWE and UFC will keep their media deals separate.
