Mercedes Mone has been making the headlines ever since she showed up at New Japan Pro Wrestling‘s event last month, Wrestle Kingdom. Mone recently made her debut for NJPW in a high-stakes championship bout, accomplishing her life-long dream of competing in Japan. Moreover, Mone’s big night was made even special with her best friend Bayley in attendance to support her.

Mercedes Mone’s debut happened at last night’s NJPW Battle in the Valley. She defeated KAIRI to win the IWGP Women’s championship in hard-hitting match that added another title to her showcase.

Furthermore, WWE star and close friend of Mercedes Monè, Bayley was also present in San Jose. It’s interesting to note that the Damage CTRL commander was donning a Lucha mask to maintain discipline and prevent disturbances among the audience.

Bayley kept the mask on for a while. But according to Twitter user @RighteousReg, the former WWE Women’s champion ultimately decided to take it off to show her support for Mercedes Monè in full force.

“They brought Bayley in here under a Lucha mask to not cause too much commotion but she was WAY TOO HYPE on the match to keep it on 😂😂😂. She stood the entire match and cheered the whole time. That’s really her best friend for real.”

Mercedes Mone and Bayley have been friends for a long time, since their working days together in WWE. The duo revolutionized the business and paved the way for better opportunities for women in WWE today.

Mercedes Mone’s match at NJPW Battle At The Valley was her first official bout since walking out on WWE back in May 2022. We will have to wait and see how the future looks for the CEO of the women’s division who now holds the IWGP Women’s title firmly in her grasp.
