Sasha Banks is renowned as one of the most accomplished female professional wrestlers ever to grace the sport, with a host of achievements to her name. In recent times, she garnered significant media attention when she parted ways with WWE’s RAW, leading to much speculation and gossip. Subsequently, she joined the ranks of New Japan Pro Wrestling, assuming the ring moniker Mercedes Mone. In fact, it seems signing with NJPW was an easy decision for her.

Sasha Banks made splash in NJPW when she made her debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17 as the charismatic “The CEO” Mercedes Mone. She stepped onto the stage after KAIRI successfully defended her title against Tam Nakano. The fans were overjoyed to see Banks/Mercedes in action and eagerly cheered her on, rooting for her success in NJPW.

While speaking during an appearance on Under The Ring, Mercedes Mone talked about why she chose to sign with NJPW once she became a free agent. Mone revealed that it was an easy decision for her.

“This is such a huge honor for me. It made it a really easy decision to go to New Japan to help kickstart this women’s division for this company. With New Japan being the biggest pro wrestling company in Japan, it was just an easy, easy decision to be like, ‘This is the place that I want to be.’ I grew up watching New Japan, I grew up watching Pro-Wrestling NOAH and all these Japanese women’s wrestling [companies] growing up.

So this was such an easy decision. It’s a dream come true for me. I think [NJPW Battle in the Valley] is just going to create so much magic and so much history for women’s wrestling that I just want everyone around the world to be like, ‘This is the company that I want to be in,’”

Mercedes Mone is set to challenge KAIRI for the IWGP Women’s Championship at NJPW Battle in the Valley in San Jose on February 18. In addition to that, she has more matches in Japan coming up.

We will have to wait and see whether Mercedes Mone will be able to dethrone KAIRI and become the new IWGP Women’s Champion. After all, a title won in her first match would be a huge thing for her.
