Andrade El Idolo made his debut in AEW last year, after a disappointing run in WWE. Fans were simply happy to see the Mexican star in AEW and hoped for many great things for El Idolo. Then things changed in recent memory.

Things have not been going well for AEW for the past couple of months. Andrade El Idolo was also involved in a backstage altercation with Sammy Guevara. He was actually sent home before AEW Dynamite last week.

Idolo was pulled from the show, but Sammy Guevara was left on the card. Many believed that the Mexican star intentionally tried to get fired by Tony Khan.

While speaking on his To Be The Man podcast, Ric Flair, Andrade’s father-in-law, talked about the backstage alteration and claimed that Andrade is a very tough guy.

“I’m family in that deal. I’ve only met Guevara one time, or twice, he was very nice to me. Pretty much how I judge people, but you don’t want to be rocking and rolling with Manny [Andrade]. I’ve been to Manny’s home, I know how he grew up. You know Sin Cara? Manny is Sin Cara. Sin Cara has beat up half the guys in the business. Manny is a very tough man. I think they feel pretty comfortable, some of the guys saying things when they know the fight is never going to get anywhere or it gets broken up and there are 1,000 people involved. Ultimately, nobody ever gets their ass whipped, but I feel comfortable in saying that wouldn’t be much of a fight. Nothing against Sammy as a wrestler, I just think Manny is a tough guy. There are not a lot of tough guys in the business anymore.”

Andrade El Idolo even made his way to AEW Dynamite to fight with Sammy Guevara. As it was previously reported, Andrade is trying to get fired from AEW. It remains to be seen whether he will stay in AEW or not.
