Andrade El Idolo made a name for himself working in CMLL in Mexico as well as New Japan Pro Wrestling. He then honed his craft in WWE and eventually made his way to AEW. That being said, it hasn’t been the smoothest road for him.

The Mexican star never quite reached the heights fans expected of him in AEW so far. He was also involved in a backstage altercation with Sammy Guevara. In fact, Andrade El Idolo was sent home before AEW Dynamite this week.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Andrade El Idolo is intentionally trying to get fired by AEW so that he could just go back to WWE.

“Andrade’s trying to get fired, we all know that. When guys want to leave, some will go to great extremes to do that. It’s happened with WWE, I’ve talked to people in WWE who’ve tried to get fired with some of the craziest things in the world, and I’ve told them it’s not gonna work.

“There were some crazy stories of people trying to get fired. Getting in a fight was never one of them, but there’s things much crazier than that from people who wanted to leave and get out and were not going to be allowed to do that because the company wasn’t going to release them.

“So now the situation is on the other front, where there’s a few people, and it’s not that many, it’s like three, that wanna leave, and there’s different stories and whatever, and Andrade’s one of them.

Andrade dropped “respect me and I’ll respect you” graphic on Twitter after Tony Khan called off the match. We will have to wait and see whether Andrade will leave AEW or not.
