AEW Dynamite Grand Slam was truly a night to remember for a variety of reasons. This included Saraya’s incredible debut as well as The Accliamed’s AEW World Tag Team Title win.

During AEW Dynamite Grand Slam this week, a few matches had notable botches from the referee. This included not noticing interference and other things that referees should see.

As previously reported, AEW actually planned referee botches during the show. AEW President Tony Khan took to Twitter and congratulated Paul Turner on officiating 100 main event matches, but pointed out the botches. Turner himself would reply as well.

Congrats
@RefTurnerAEW
on refereeing 100 AEW main events!

As Senior Official, Paul manages our refs, who do great work, but missed some illegalities in the first few bouts last night

I know we can count on Paul, I’m asking him to tighten it up, starting tomorrow on #AEWRampage

Paul Turner then replied to say, “Thank you @TonyKhan for the recognition. I’ll be one of the first to admit it’s time to tighten the screws. Changes will be made starting tomorrow on #AEWRampage.”

We will have to wait and see what AEW has in store for fans as far as this storyline with Paul Turner is concerned. Perhaps it will end up being an engaging one.

What’s your take on this plan? Sound off in the comments!
