WWE is continuing to add to their roster of talent on the NXT brand. It appears another recent signee will be getting their ring name soon. The company has filed for trademark protection on yet another ring name for one of its superstars.

The latest, filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office on May 12, is for the name “Ava Raine.” Thus far, nobody has used the moniker, so it will be interesting to see who winds up with the new name. WWE frequently debuts wrestlers shortly after filing for trademarks, so we should know soon.

As usual, the filing is a standard WWE trademark application. The name will be used for various professional wrestling-related activities. The description reads as follows:

“Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment”

WWE also recently filed for the name “Bloody Brutes.” The company appears poised to have several new debuts in the coming weeks. Neither name was used on this week’s NXT 2.0 or at the Level Up taping, so Tuesday could be the day they make their appearance.

NXT is beginning the build for the upcoming “In Your House” event on June 4. On last night’s episode of NXT 2.0, it was revealed that Bron Breakker will defend the NXT Championship against Joe Gacy. The North American and Tag Team Championships will also be defended on the show, which will stream live on Peacock.
