WWE appears ready to once again debut new NXT star. A new trademark for ring name has been filed by the company. Typically, when that happens, the talent using the name either debuts shortly afterward or has already started working for the company.

The latest name WWE is seeking to protect is “Rip Fowler.” The filing is standard stuff. WWE intends to use the name for all things related to pro wrestling and sports entertainment, according to the USPTO.

“Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely, blogs, in the field of sports entertainment”

The filing date for the new trademark was May 4, 2022. Fans could see the new character as soon as this evening. NXT airs on USA starting at 8 PM eastern.
