Vince McMahon is well known for his aversion to certain terms. An ongoing list of words that are not supposed to be said on WWE television has been circulating for quite some time. Another new forbidden word has been added by McMahon.

On last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw, the handicap match between Mustafi Ali and The Miz & Theory was billed as a “non-title championship contender’s match.” According to Dave Meltzer, that was a mistake.

Meltzer discussed the latest banned word on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio. The description perfectly described the purpose of the match. However, the word ‘non-title’ appears on the banned words list.

“Well, they can’t say non-title. That’s a banned term.”

The long list of banned WWE terms has some serious headscratchers. Insider terms like “kayfabe” and “jobber” are obvious. Other more baffling words include “DQ,” “card,” and “choke.” Even certain city names are forbidden.

Vince McMahon is one of the most eclectic personalities on the planet. The WWE boss is not a fan of specific words and goes so far as to keep a list of what not to say in internal documents. It appears “non-title” is the latest to be banished.
