Matt Cardona wrestled independent stalwart Josh Prohibition at an AIW show in Cleveland, Ohio this weekend. Cardona has played the ultimate heel during his post-WWE run, collecting championships from promotions all over the place. During the match, Prohibition’s daughter, Sophia, got involved.

Cardona raised a steel chair above his head when Sophia entered the ring. He thought twice but decided smashing a child in the head was a bad idea. Instead, Cardona set Sophia up for a powerbomb. That move was reversed, and Matt Cardona took a frankensteiner from her.

Cardona spring back up, selling the move, which allowed Prohibition to get a near-fall. Ultimately, Matt won the match. Josh Prohibition couldn’t have been happier to see his little girl stand up for him.

“I didn’t get the outcome I wanted but I couldn’t be more proud of my daughter Sophia for sticking up for her Dad! Ride or die. Family Forever!”

Kids have quite a controversial history in pro wrestling. Braun Strowman once won the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships with young “fan” named Nicholas. Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio famously fought over custody of Dominik Mysterio when he was just a young boy.

The critics will surely be all over Matt Cardona selling offense from a kid. Regardless, people are talking about the spot. It will be interesting to hear from some of the talking heads in the wrestling media about this one.
