Keith Lee is preparing to compete in the Face of the Revolution ladder match at Sunday’s AEW Revolution pay-per-view. Just months ago, Keith was working for WWE, who had just slapped new gimmick on the big man. Fans did not react well to the change.

Lee was released by WWE shortly after the change failed to resonate with audiences. When Keith Lee arrived in AEW, he got a huge reaction. The Limitless One said he feels he fills a void in AEW that didn’t exist in WWE.

In a recent interview with the New York Post, Lee discussed the gimmick change. Keith didn’t think the new character was failing. It simply confused fans who expected a certain presentation.

“I wouldn’t go that far along [to say it wasn’t working]. I just think that the difference was so stark that it confused people.”

Keith Lee thinks the change could have worked if it was built up over time. Instead, WWE brought the character in cold. It was enough of a shock that it only upset fans.

The “Bearcat” era of Keith Lee’s career is in the past. Keith is now focused on becoming the Face of the Revolution and winning the AEW TNT Championship. The next step on that journey goes down on Sunday night in Orlando.
