Keith Lee had a tremendous run in NXT where he won both the NXT and North American Champion. Fans had high hopes for him on the main roster in WWE but it turned out to be a huge disappointment in the end. It seems he opened up about his time in WWE once again.

After being given the Bearcat Lee gimmick which failed to get over with fans for good reason, Keith Lee was released by WWE last year. This certainly came as a shock to fans and pro wrestlers alike.

Lee had previously made it clear that the Bearcat name was not his idea. While speaking with Bleacher Report, Keith Lee talked about his name change in WWE. Lee revealed that WWE did not consult him regarding the name change.

“I don’t really think I had [a reaction]. At the end of the day, it was something that was brought up while I was out doing the dance with lady death situation. And I didn’t think much of it, obviously. And then when I came back, it was something that [WWE management] really wanted, and they pulled me into an office and asked me to do it. And that was my job. So I said ‘OK,’ and that was kind of it. Was I fond of it? No. But you got to do what you’re asked to do at the end of the day.”
