Big E was the WWE Champion from mid-September of last year until New Year’s Day. That meant he was the top star on Monday Night Raw. Big E lost the title just months after winning it at the Day 1 premium live event. Now, he’s changing brands.

Big E has appeared on SmackDown for two straight weeks. The announcers said it was a one-off after the first time, citing the chaos of the Royal Rumble. On last night’s show, they acknowledged several times that Big E was now officially a part of the blue brand.

There were no additional details available about the move. Big E had been discussed as possibly winning the WWE Championship again leading into WrestleMania. That likely won’t happen now, as Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship is the flagship belt of SmackDown.

Big E moved from SmackDown to Raw in September after he cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase on Bobby Lashley to win the title. The move allowed him to rejoin Kofi Kingston and King Xavier Woods for reformation of The New Day. The WWE Draft again pulled the group apart after a short time.

We’ll see if Big E comes out on top and earns another world title shot. Many fans would love to see him get a lengthier reign on top. That journey begins tonight at the WWE Royal Rumble.
