Big E, Xavier Woods, and Kofi Kingston all had their names called during the 2021 WWE Draft, but they ended up on different shows. That could reveal how decision-makers in WWE feel about the team getting back together, because someone is obviously against the idea.

When Woods and Kingston were announced for SmackDown, the Baltimore crowd booed a bit. They wanted to see the New Day reunite on a weekly basis, but WWE has other plans.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer brought this up and stated that it is apparent WWE doesn’t want Big E and the New Day’s association on screen anymore. The reason for their decision might not sit too well with some fans.

“I thought by moving Big E to RAW you’d keep the group together, so obviously by moving the group, it tells me that they really don’t want Big E with those other two guys with the idea that it will hold him back, and I so completely disagree with that. I think he brings the other two guys up.”

We’ll have to see what comes next in this storyline. WWE has no offseason so they need to continue coming up with new angles to keep things going. Perhaps the New Day will reunite as a trio down the line, but it seems that WWE is keeping them separated by brand lines for another year.
