Many consider CM Punk’s AEW debut at AEW Rampage: The First Dance to be one of the greatest moments in the company’s history and it is hard to argue why. To add to that, his debut might even make it to Guinness World Records.

Punk himself absolutely loved his AEW debut and it was said that AEW had no idea what Punk was going to say in his promo during his debut on AEW Rampage.

Chris Jericho previously claimed that AEW has several main event level matches thanks to the acquisition of CM Punk. One of the dream matches fans have been asking about is certainly CM Punk taking on Kenny Omega.

While speaking with The Wrap, CM Punk was asked about squaring off against Bryan Danielson and Kenny Omega. CM Punk made it clear that he isn’t in any hurry to either of them in AEW.

“Slow down, us. You don’t start a big comeback ‘pitching Game 1 of the World Series. I’m an artist painting my picture. Let me paint my picture. What I’m doing is very calculated, it’s very thought out.”

“I’m here to stay. Trust me, in 10 years, people will be talking about what we have with AEW. It’s such a just hang out, wait and see, and have fun and enjoy the ride kind of thing. Everything is fluid: dates, contracts — literally everything. This has been the best working experience I’ve ever had in the wrestling business, and if there is an issue on either end, everybody just talks. There’s no drama, it’s fantastic.”

CM Punk had previously stated that a match against Kenny Omega would be one of his biggest matches to date, so it remains to be seen when the two will finally square off against each other.
