AEW Full Gear included an Elite Deletion match which seemed to wrap up the feud between Matt Hardy and Sammy Guevara. There were several spots that referenced previous events in their feud, and Hardy ended the match by deleting the Spanish God. They had a lot of help putting everything together.

Tony Khan revealed during the media conference after Full Gear that he was at the Hardy Compound for the shoot. He is also not opposed to the idea of bringing back Gangrel and Hurricane Helms down the line.

According to Fightful Select, the Elite Deletion match was filmed week ahead of time. That means Reby Hardy was holding onto the video of them shooting Roman Candles so close to their house for over a week.

It was also noted that “several wrestlers involved” had “heavy input” on what they did during that match. It wasn’t specifically noted who gets credit for which spots, but it sounded like a team effort.

We’ll have to wait and see when AEW puts on another cinematic match. Matt Hardy got his Deletion match in AEW, and it was a success in his book. Overall the match received positive feedback backstage.
