Impact Wrestling fired Tessa Blanchard while she held the company’s World Title. A match to determine a new champion will take place at Slammiversary, but Impact Wrestling wanted Blanchard to be there.

Blanchard did not return to work for Impact Wrestling because she was staying in Mexico. She is engaged to Daga and did not know if she would be allowed back into Mexico if she left. Her deal with Impact Wrestling was up on June 30th.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Blanchard was asked to come in just to drop her title during the Slammiversary show. She provided them with an amount for a one-date price, but Impact Wrestling went a different direction.

They wanted her to at least come in and drop the title on the 7/18 show. We were told that she offered a one-date price and whatever the number was, they turned it down, and then announced she was fired just days before her contract expired.

Tessa Blanchard already has interest from WWE. They reportedly sent feelers out to her when finding out about her free agency status. There is also chance that Blanchard could be brought into WWE for an Evolution II event following SummerSlam.

Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary event should have a few surprises, but don’t expect to see Tessa Blanchard.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
