WWE released their 1st quarter financial report for 2020. They were able to defeat the estimates, but Vince McMahon has a lot in mind. Some of the future might be a bit unclear.

Vince McMahon said that COVID-19 had a minimal impact on them financially. This report only reflected a few weeks of the coronavirus pandemic.

He said, “we will continue to produce compelling content to provide a diversion.” He noted that WWE is “family friendly” which helps them. The current global pandemic has put WWE in an interesting situation, but they are carrying on.

“It’s a challenging environment but obviously you want to take advantage of that environment and make it special.”

He said that they will make “mini-movies like we did at WrestleMania” and more “personality profiles.” Vince McMahon said that WrestleMania 36 was the “culmination of where all these can lead.”

McMahon said that they are still figuring out what “the new normal” is going to be. It has a lot to do with what they will be permitted to do. It’s about “looking at our country and opening up to some capacity whether it be 3 months or 6 months in the future.” This might be very notable considering McMahon’s placement on Donald Trump’s re-opening committee.

We’ll have to see what Vince McMahon and WWE have in store for WWE’s future. They are preparing for more innovative programming as they make things work around their current circumstances.
