AEW Dynamite is on Wednesdays and competing against WWE NXT on a weekly basis. They have won every week so far in 2020 as well. They seem to like that day of the week.

Cody Rhodes spoke about possibly moving Dynamite to Mondays. He said that he’d like to see it happen within the next five years. He is also confident that AEW would do well on Mondays.

Fightful Select reports that Tony Khan has no plans of moving their Dynamite show to Mondays. They don’t want to conflict with Mondays due to the NFL and Khan’s connection as an owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Tony Khan has no plans to move from Wednesdays, and would never move to Mondays if he could help it. We’re told that has more to do with an NFL conflict than anything, considering the Khan family has a substantial interest with them owning the entirety of the Jacksonville Jaguars team and it would effectively be “competing against themselves.”

The company did consider Tuesdays at first. They even registered trademark for Tuesday Night Dynamite. The idea would have been to take over for SmackDown after WWE left Tuesdays for Fridays.

AEW decided to go with Wednesdays for their weekly television show and it doesn’t appear that will change any time soon.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
