Tony Khans is getting to run his own pro wrestling company which is something that he has wanted to do for a very long time. In fact, All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite might actually draw inspiration from his own childhood fantasies.

A lot of fans wondered why AEW picked “Dynamite” as their show’s name. After all, Dynamite on TNT is incredibly punny. The origin of that name actually dates back a very long time for Tony Khan.

It was noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that when Tony Khan was a kid, he had a fantasy wrestling television show which he called “Dynamite.” This could explain a lot.

Regarding the name AEW Dynamite, like the original Tuesday Night Dynamite, in a trivia note, Khan as a kid used to book pro wrestling television and the name Dynamite was the name of his fantasy television show he put together so that’s the actual origination of the name

We’ll have to wait and see how AEW Dynamite does in the real world, but it apparently did well enough in Tony Khan’s imagination as a child to warrant an actual test run.

Tony Khan is very passionate about pro wrestling and claims to have seen every pro wrestling pay-per-view ever. We can only imagine what other ideas he might have, but as a life-long fan he has apparently had plenty of time to come up with some plans.
