WWE let four Superstars go this weekend. Luke Harper and Sin Cara both publicly asked for their WWE releases, but The Ascension just hadn’t been used since WrestleMania. Mike Kanellis asked for his WWE release as well, but that hasn’t been granted.

Weeks after re-signing with WWE, Kanellis asked for his release. He had just signed a five-year contract with WWE worth a reported $250,000 a year, but he wants out of the deal.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE might releasing more Superstars soon. At this time Mike Kanellis is still with the company and also doing everything he’s been asked to do.

Mike Kanellis did [ask for his release], but he’s not been released yet. Everyone I’ve heard from says that Mike Kanellis has done everything that they’ve asked.

We’ll have to see what’s next for Mike Kanellis. He is currently doing motivational speaking gigs and not charging for them either. He is keeping himself busy as Maria Kanellis is about to have the couple’s second child. At this time he is still under contract with WWE.
