Brock Lesnar Quitting SmackDown Was Not The Original Plan This Week

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman showed up on SmackDown this week and then Lesnar quit the blue brand. They’re headed to RAW now and that means the WWE Title will go with them.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Heyman and Lesnar were not supposed to be on SmackDown. Since they were two of the only people who made it out of Saudi Arabia then they made the show.

“The whole show was rearranged. Lesnar and Heyman were not scheduled for the show, but they were basically contacted because nobody else got out.”

This angle wasn’t supposed to happen until later, but it seemed to work out in terms of the storyline. Now RAW has Brock Lesnar once again and they also have the WWE Title. The red title is now on the blue brand, but that seems to work in this scenario.

At least everyone eventually made it out of Saudi Arabia safe and sound. It will be very interesting to see who WWE can convince to take a chance on going back next time.
