Harper asked for his WWE release in a very public way, however, that did not work out for him. Now Harper is looking at even more time with the company as they added on months to this contract due to time missed because of a surgery he needed last year.
Vince McMahon has his own way of looking at things and The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Vince McMahon doesn’t “get” Harper. This has not helped matters at all.
It is said that one person “close to the situation” stated that Harper just needs to get out of WWE which is what he was trying to do before Vince McMahon stopped him via a written notice.
McMahon reportedly complained about Harper as well because he “couldn’t even do a Southern accent.” There were no shortage of ideas for Harper as the former Wyatt Family member reportedly kept regularly pitching angles for himself even when he was out with an injury, but they were all turned down.
Harper was also reportedly only brought in for SmackDown a few weeks ago so WWE could test out a new manager idea for EC3 which Vince McMahon hated as well.
