James Ellsworth was recently accused of sending inappropriate images to 16-year-old fan. Once we saw the evidence it was pretty hard to deny. But we have also heard that some people on the indies could be happy about these recent events.
Ellsworth has denied the allegations, and his accuser said she’s not calling the police. But it appears that the losses are still going to keep coming for Ellsworth.
Saltine, who is the co-host of Under The Mat Radio has reported that the Adrenaline Championship Wrestling’s event on December 29th in Perry Hall, Maryland is now canceled. ACW is, of course, run by James Ellsworth.
It’s one thing to punish Ellsworth, but there are a lot of people booked to be at that show including Joey Ryan, Gillberg, Sandman, and Sunny. We were told that some talents were hesitant about working for Ellsworth’s company though in light of the recent allegations against him anyway.
At this time we don’t know if Ellsworth’s ACW promotion is totally done or if they’re just canceling their December 29th event, but it is still another big loss Ellsworth has suffered in this situation and there could be many more to come as Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that this kind of thing could be “career killer.”
