When Cody debuted for Ring of Honor back on December 2 in 2016, where he faced Jay Lethal. Despite entering as a babyface, Cody would leave that arena as a massive heel. The “American Nightmare” was soon born, and Cody would sign to ROH in April of 2017.
With Cody moving on past ROH to focus on other projects, his final match for the promotion- despite being injured, has now been confirmed. At Final Battle on December 14, Cody will face the man he defeated in his debut for the promotion. He goes one-on-one with Lethal for the ROH World Championship.
The “American Nightmare” took to Twitter to confirm this would be his last match with the company, and if he has anything to say about it, he’ll be taking the World Championship with him into free agency.

It remains to be seen what Cody does moving forward, though this is seen by many fans to be the perfect ending for Cody’s run in ROH. He debuted at Final Battle 2016 to defeat Lethal, and now his time in ROH comes to an end at Final Battle 2018 against the same man.
