WWE has a loaded show planned for tonight, May 4, 2026, but there’s now an update on how things are expected to kick off.
According to Bodyslam.net, Seth Rollins was listed internally as the opening segment for Monday Night RAW as of earlier today.
That puts Seth Rollins front and center to start the go-home show ahead of Backlash. The report notes this was part of the early rundown as of 4 PM, which means the plan is in place — at least for now. As always with WWE, things can change at any time, especially on the day of the show.
Rollins opening would be a major way to kick things off, especially with several big segments already advertised for the night, including the Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu contract signing, plus the Asuka and IYO SKY sit-down.
The May 4, 2026 episode of Monday Night Raw is expected to be a memorable one. The show will be the go-home edition before the Backlash Premium Live Event, so fans can expect a solid show from start to finish.
Before their match for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at Backlash, Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu will have a contract signing this week on Monday Night Raw. Last week, Fatu hit the Tongan Death Grip on Reigns and took him out, so Reigns wants revenge. So, it remains to be seen what will happen during the segment this week.
Ahead of their match at Backlash on Saturday, Asuka and IYO SKY sit down face-to-face and it’s expected to be a very personal segment considering the history between the two. So we’ll have to see how their segment will turn out in the end.
Oba Femi destroyed Grayson Waller during last week’s show and then announced an Open challenge, putting the whole roster on notice. This week will kick off the open challenge, so fans are waiting to see who will step up to the Ruler and try to beat him.
Je’Von Evans & Penta will duke it out with Rusev and Ethan Page in tag team action. JD McDonagh will square off against Finn Balor again. Sol Ruca will also sign her Monday Night Raw contract this week. Finally, Brie Bella & Paige will also appear on the show.
Ringside News will be providing live play-by-play coverage of this week’s show over in our WWE Monday Night RAW coverage hub.
