Zoe Serrano isn’t pretending every hard shot she threw inside the ring was an accident.

The woman formerly known in WWE as Zoey Stark just admitted she has handed out receipts—and sometimes made an opponent sweat before finally delivering one. Serrano tackled the subject during her new “Zoey 101” series. She explained that if somebody stiffed her during a match, she wasn’t afraid to hit them back just as hard.

“Okay, first off, if you don’t know what a receipt is, it’s pretty much like if someone stiffed me—like, hit me too hard—I am going to tell them, ‘You’re getting a receipt,’ and I give them a good hit back at about the same level of what they probably would have given me.”

Getting hit too hard isn’t the only thing that sets Serrano off. She said forgotten spots and unsafe work can bring out her temper once the bell rings.

“I personally have a bad anger issue when it comes to professional wrestling. If you forget a spot, if you’re unsafe or anything like that, I get angry. You know, Zoey is angry. That’s just who I am when I’m inside that wrestling ring.”

Serrano admitted she has handed out plenty of receipts. Sometimes the payback came immediately. Other times, she warned the wrestler and let them wonder when it was coming.

“So, yes, I have given people a receipt, and it’s been plenty of times when I give it back pretty fast, or I just let them wait because they know it’s coming.”

“I tell them, like, ‘Oh, you’re getting a receipt later,’ and I just let it ride out a little bit. Let that anxiety build up because they all know I hit hard.”

She didn’t drop any names, but her former opponents probably know exactly who she was talking about. If Serrano told someone a receipt was coming, she clearly wasn’t bluffing.

Was Serrano justified in handing out receipts, or should those problems have been handled after the match? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know.
