Britt Baker just put the ball squarely in AEW’s court. Nearly two years after disappearing from television, the former AEW Women’s World Champion made it clear she would gladly walk back through the door at All In 2026 this Sunday, August 30.
Baker posted a beach photo this week when a fan jumped into the replies and told her, “Wish you would return at Wembley.” Baker didn’t dodge it, turn it into a joke or tease some mystery date. Her answer was one word.
“Same.”
That response hits differently when Baker has already said her AEW absence isn’t her choice. Back in March, she was asked about potentially returning at AEW Revolution and answered, “Not up to me.” Five months later, nothing appears to have changed.
Baker hasn’t wrestled for AEW since November 2024, and her last television appearance came on the November 13 episode of Dynamite when she confronted Serena Deeb. There has never been an official explanation for why one of AEW’s original stars suddenly vanished from the company’s programming.
Tony Khan has continued to say that he expects Baker to return, but he has never produced a timeline or explained what AEW is waiting for. He also pushed back against the stories about Baker being unpopular backstage, saying in February that she remains “very highly regarded and respected” within the company.
Baker, meanwhile, has spent the past week letting fans know exactly where she stands. She gave the same “Same” response on August 20 when another fan said they missed her. When someone asked where she had been on August 14, Baker gave them a perfectly blunt answer.
“At the beach.”
There is at least one other date floating around. According to Sean Ross Sapp during a Fightful Select Answers Q&A, Baker’s name has come up for the September 9 “Rebel Heart” edition of Dynamite honoring Rebel following her terminal ALS diagnosis. Baker and Rebel spent years together on AEW television and remain close, but there is no confirmation Baker will appear.
So this isn’t Baker playing hard to get. She wants to return, fans want her back, and AEW has two obvious opportunities sitting right in front of them. If she isn’t at Wembley or the Rebel tribute show, the question won’t be whether Baker is interested—it’ll be why AEW still hasn’t brought her back.
