The Young Bucks have officially joined the growing list of wrestlers taking part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
After being nominated by Britt Baker, both Matt and Nick Jackson accepted the challenge on their YouTube channel. Before either of them dumped ice water over their heads, however, they made sure to remind fans that the challenge is about raising awareness and supporting their friend Rebel. Matt was up first, explaining exactly why he had accepted Britt Baker’s nomination.
“Hello friends, it’s Matt Jackson of the Young Bucks. I was nominated by my favorite dentist Britt Baker to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in honor of our good friend Rebel. And if you actually want to support Rebel, you can get this T-shirt at ShopAEW.com or you can directly donate to I Am ALS.”
With that message out of the way, Matt turned the spotlight toward the people he wanted to see continue the challenge, calling out a mix of wrestling stars and Hollywood names.
“Before I get to this, let me talk about who I’m nominating. First and foremost, one of my favorite actors, Ken Jeong, one of my best friends in the business, Kevin Owens, one of my favorite tag teams of all time, The Good Brothers, and Carl Anderson specifically, Sour Boy, and finally, Candice LeRae, one of my favorite female wrestlers of all time.”
After making his nominations, Matt looked over at the bucket waiting for him and admitted what he was thinking: “Okay, so let’s get to this. This is going to suck.” Moments later, the ice water came crashing down.
Nick Jackson wasn’t getting away without taking the challenge either. After revealing that Britt Baker had nominated him as well, Nick quickly accepted before passing the challenge on to another group of wrestlers. He then announced his own nominations.
“All right. This is Nick Jackson of the Young Bucks. This is the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Britt Baker nominated me. So, in return, I nominate Jack Perry, Anna Jay, Luchasaurus, and Brandon Cutler.”
Before the bucket was dumped, Nick had one request for the person holding it. He didn’t want to know when it was coming.
“My daughter’s about to get me, and I don’t want her to tell me when, so just surprise me. Okay… Oh my God!”
With both Jackson brothers now officially completing the challenge, they used the viral moment to keep the attention on Rebel while encouraging fans to support ALS research and nominate others to continue spreading awareness.
