Xavier Woods has made a powerful and emotional statement about his recent injury on the August 18, 2025 episode of WWE RAW—calling out not just his attacker, but WWE management for alleged double standards in how talent is treated after serious incidents.
Woods posted a video on Twitter on August 23 wearing a neck brace, detailing the injury he suffered after taking a Mexican Destroyer from Penta El Zero Miedo. According to Woods, the move caused a serious neck injury—and he believes it could have been prevented.
“Hello, my name is Xavier Woods and I am a WWE Superstar. Our jobs are very dangerous but precautions are taken to make sure that we are as safe as possible. But unfortunately, this past Monday I suffered a debilitating injury due to the irresponsibility of one Adam Pierce, a maneuver called the Pile Driver.”
Woods laid out the danger of the move that hurt him:
“Banned from WWE for years due to the extreme damage that it can cause to the vital areas of a competitor’s neck, a package pile driver puts even more torque on the neck, thus making it even more dangerous. But the most dangerous pile driver known to the WWE Universe is the Mexican Destroyer, and the Mexican Destroyer strikes again.”
He expressed serious frustration that WWE management didn’t respond the way they have in the past for other top stars:
“Randy Orton was assaulted with a pile driver and he was cared for. Cody Rhodes was assaulted with a pile driver and he was cared for. I was assaulted with a pile driver. Where was my care? Where was my Jason Jordan? Where was my Shane Helms? Where was my Jamie Noble? Where was my General Manager?”
Woods believes the incident is another example of how The New Day has been treated differently compared to others:
“The New Day has fallen victim to double standards for the entirety of our WWE careers, and this is just another example on the landfill of evidence that already exists.”
He even accused WWE official Adam Pearce of orchestrating the attack:
“Adam Pierce sent his masked mercenary to attempt to shatter every bone in my neck, all because he doesn’t want to give the New Day our well-deserved rematch for the Tag Team Championship.”
Despite the setback, Woods promised that justice would be served when Kofi Kingston faces Penta this coming Monday:
“But this Monday in Birmingham, Kofi is going to avenge me by beating Penta so bad that he won’t be able to damage the neck or well-being of anyone else on the roster.”
He ended his video with a mix of defiance and emotion:
“This is our sacrifice. We fight because we care. And we do all of this while still mourning the loss of the WWE tag team division. We are so strong. Keep the tag team division in your thoughts and prayers. Keep me and my neck in your thoughts and prayers and thank God for the New Day.”
Woods’ video is already getting massive attention online, and it’s clear he’s not staying silent about how he feels his team has been treated in WWE.
