WWE didn’t leave Paige’s missing SmackDown segment buried for long.
Shortly after Paige fired off tweets about women having segments cut from the August 14 episode of WWE SmackDown, WWE took to social media and posted the unaired footage that never made it onto the live broadcast.
The promo was aimed directly at Nikki Bella, with Paige ripping into Nikki’s claim that she helped revitalize her career and accusing her of trying to rewrite history.
“Nikki, since you decided to try and rewrite history last week, let’s set the record straight. You said that you single-handedly revitalized my career. Well, last time I checked, I don’t remember you being there by my side when I was working tirelessly every single day for eight years just to get back to WWE.”
Paige also fired back at Nikki for saying she was leeching off the Bella Twins, pointing out that Nikki was the one who asked her to come back and help in the first place.
“Did I come begging to be an honorary Bella for my big return after being gone for nearly a decade? No. You called me. You asked for my help.”
She then accused Nikki of being jealous that someone else had taken her spot and made it clear she has no plans on going anywhere. Paige ended the promo with a warning for Nikki.
“You act like you’re doing this to support your sister, but really, you’re just jealous that someone else took your spot.”
“Good luck keeping up, baby girl, because this is my house and I plan on being here for a very long time.”
The timing of WWE posting the footage is hard to miss. Paige had just reacted online after her planned promo was cut from the live show, and WWE then released the segment anyway for fans to see after SmackDown went off the air. So while Paige’s promo didn’t make television, WWE still pushed it out online — and the feud with Nikki Bella is clearly still moving forward.
