WWE’s SummerSlam ticket situation is finally moving in the right direction, with thousands of seats distributed for Saturday’s show over the past several days.
WrestleTix states that 27,275 tickets have now been distributed for the August 1 event at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. The current setup holds 31,264 fans, leaving WWE with 3,175 standard tickets and 814 two-night combo tickets still available.
That is an increase of 4,495 tickets over the past four days, giving WWE a much-needed surge after weeks of internal concern over the company’s first two-night SummerSlam stadium event. Back on July 10, Ringside News reported that the lack of movement had become a major discussion inside WWE headquarters.
“The SummerSlam ticket sale story, or lack thereof, has been a hot topic in Stamford over the past month or so.”
The concern did not begin when the numbers became public. WWE had already been watching the slow sales for weeks.
“This isn’t a realization that came today. It’s been a concern internally for weeks.”
WWE has now turned to aggressive pricing to help close the remaining gap. During Saturday Night’s Main Event, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson announced a limited-time SummerSlam promotion offering tickets for as little as $25 with the discount code “JJETS.”
The cheapest regular admission ticket is currently listed at $76.10 through Ticketmaster, making Jefferson’s promotion a massive discount for fans still deciding whether to attend.
Saturday’s card has also grown considerably since the ticket concerns first surfaced. WWE now has Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes and several other major names advertised for the show.
The updated SummerSlam 26 lineup includes:
- Liv Morgan vs. IYO SKY for the Women’s World Championship
- Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell
- Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship
- Penta vs. Chad Gable for the Intercontinental Championship
- CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship
- LA Knight, Solo Sikoa and Royce Keys vs. Jacob Fatu, Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso
- Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill vs. Charlotte Flair or Nia Jax vs. two additional competitors in a five-way ladder match for the Interim WWE Women’s Championship
- Gunther vs. Nick Aldis
The latest increase does not erase WWE’s earlier ticket problems, but adding nearly 4,500 fans in four days is a major improvement. With fewer than 4,000 tickets remaining in the current Saturday setup, the company now has a realistic shot at filling most of the available building. WWE still has work to do, but the combination of a loaded card and $25 tickets appears to be producing the late SummerSlam push Stamford desperately needed.
