The SummerSlam Premium Live Event is finally upon us, and we’re kicking it off with SummerSlam Saturday. The company has booked a solid card for the show, ensuring that fans will be entertained from start to finish.
Undisputed WWE Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Cody Rhodes
CM Punk shocked the world by returning and defeating Sami Zayn to capture the Undisputed WWE Championship after Cody Rhodes was attacked by GUNTHER before his scheduled title match. Cody quickly challenged Punk and after a lot of drama and insanity, WWE booked Rhodes vs. Punk for SummerSlam. There is definitely a lot of animosity between the two, so it remains to be seen who will walk out as the Undisputed WWE Champion in the end.
Hell in a Cell Match: Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi
Oba Femi earned a world title opportunity by winning King of the Ring, but Brock Lesnar returned before he could cash it in and attacked him. Oba chose revenge over championship gold, accepting Lesnar’s challenge to meet inside Hell in a Cell. It’s expected to be an all-out war and even bloody, so fans are waiting to see whether the Ruler can put down the Beast once and for all.
Women’s World Championship: Liv Morgan (c) vs. IYO SKY
IYO SKY earned this championship opportunity by winning the Queen of the Ring tournament before immediately challenging Liv Morgan. Since then, both have been engaged in a massive feud but let’s not forget the fact that Danhausen actually cursed Liv Morgan. So we will have to wait and see whether SKY will end up dethroning Morgan at SummerSlam.
Other Matches
LA Knight teams up with Solo Sikoa and Royce Keyes to square off against Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu in tag team action. In another match, Nikki Bella, Brie Bella & Paige will duke it out with Fatal Influence in a tag team match. Finally, Nick Aldis will make his WWE in-ring debut as he takes on GUNTHER and the match is expected to be a solid one.
