Steel Cage Match
(C) Kofi Kingston Vs. Dolph Ziggler
The bell rings and Kofi and Dolph come face-to-face. Ziggler floors Kofi with a dropkick, then looks to just walk out of the cage but Kofi pulls his leg. Dolph tries to catapult Kofi into the wall but the Champion grabs hold of the steel and kicks Dolph backwards.
Kofi attacks Dolph in the corner, then looks to do the same in another corner but Dolph catches him and throws him into the cage wall. Dolph slows things down with a headlock. Kofi fights out but Ziggler forces him to the corner and unloads. Kofi connects with a back elbow, followed by a springboard dropkick.
Kofi drops Dolph with another dropkick but Dolph then shoves him into the cage for a two-count. Ziggler props-up Kingston in the corner and slaps him. Kofi fires back by tossing Dolph into the cage, then again, and again. Kofi slaps Dolph, but gets kicked in the knee. Dolph looks for the Famasser but Kofi shoves him into the cage for another two count.
Kofi starts climbing the cage via the turnbuckles but Ziggler pulls him back. They’re brawling on the top rope until Kofi drops Dolph. Kingston begins climbing again but changes his mind and hits a crossbody to Ziggler for a two-count. Kofi starts climbing again and gets to the top but Ziggler gets up and grabs his leg. This time Ziggler knocks Kofi off the ropes, but the Champion quickly climbs back up and they’re sitting atop the cage.
Ziggler gets his legs down but Kofi holds his upper half against the top of the cage. Kofi drags Dolph back over and into the ring. Underwhelming. Kofi hits Dolph with an S.O.S for a near-fall. Kingston looks for Trouble In Paradise but Ziggler avoids it. Ziggler hits a DDT to Kofi’s leg, attempting to prevent him from climbing. Ziggler applies an ankle lock and Kofi uses the ropes to pull himself up. Dolph superkicks Kofi, causing the Champion to fall backwards into the cage door that flies open. Kofi almost falls to the floor but Dolph drags him back in and goes back to a leg submission.
Kingston fights out and looks for Trouble In Paradise but Ziggler catches the leg and goes back to the ankle lock. Kofi reverses into an ankle lock of his own but Ziggler kicks him off, followed by a Zig-Zag for a near-fall. Dolph looks for a superkick but Kofi reverses and takes Dolph down with a headlock. Ziggler tries to back himself up and out of the cage door but Kofi holds him inside.
Kofi looks for a suplex but Dolph lands on his feet and again makes for the door but Kingston drags him back. Ziggler rakes the eyes of Kofi and kicks him away, then goes back to the door. Ziggler is crawling out the ropes when Kingston runs and dives through the ropes to the floor first!
Winner: Kofi Kingston
Kofi is joined by Big E and Xavier Woods for celebrations after the match. That match went on a little too long and wasn’t particularly exciting, but that was an awesome finish. Charly Caruso interviews Kofi on the stage and asks what is next for the Champion. Kingston says he respects the hell out of Dolph Ziggler, he said before he’s a great competitor. But he also said he would walk out tonight as the WWE Champion and he did.
