Zilla Fatu’s emotional moment with John Cena on NXT already had plenty going on, but WWE apparently wanted to make sure one particular part really landed with viewers. A new backstage note reveals production was ready to give the segment a little extra boost along the way.

According to a report by Fightful Select, there was a specific spot during Zilla Fatu’s November 4 NXT promo where WWE production was instructed to crank up the audio levels.

“There was a spot in the Zilla Fatu promo on NXT that called for the audio levels to be elevated by production.”

Exactly which moment got the audio boost wasn’t specified, but WWE certainly had plenty to work with that night. Cena showed up on NXT to announce Fatu as the second confirmed entrant in the John Cena Classic, giving the son of Umaga a pretty huge opportunity in the process.

Things then got a lot more personal. Cena talked about his long history with Fatu’s family before turning his attention to Umaga, explaining how much love and respect he had for the late WWE star and why giving his son this opportunity meant so much to him. Fatu couldn’t hold back the tears as Cena talked about his father. He eventually thanked Cena for the opportunity before the two shared a hug in the middle of the ring.

Whatever exact moment WWE wanted louder, production clearly knew there was something worth giving more attention to during the segment. Between Cena talking about Umaga, Fatu getting emotional, and the crowd reacting to the whole thing, WWE wasn’t exactly short on material to turn up.

What do you make of WWE deliberately boosting the audio during Zilla Fatu’s emotional moment with John Cena? Let us know what you think in the comments.
