WWE NXT Heatwave is the next Premium Live Event for the developmental brand and there are plenty of matches that have potential to steal the show, so fans will be in for a ride from start to finish.
NXT Championship: Tony D’Angelo (c) vs. Grayson Waller vs. Cruz Montana vs. Zilla Fatu
Tony D’Angelo will defend his NXT Championship against Grayson Waller, Cruz Montana and Zilla Fatu in a Fatal Four-Way, with three of NXT’s newest arrivals all getting an opportunity to take the biggest championship on the brand. This comes after Waller and Montana’s #1 contender’s match was crashed by a debuting Zilla Fatu. Fatu then signed his NXT contract and WWE booked the fatal four-way match. So it remains to be seen who will walk out as the NXT Champion in the end.
NXT Women’s Championship: Kendal Grey (c) vs. Kelani Jordan
Kendal Grey’s reign as NXT Women’s Champion faces another test when she goes one-on-one with Kelani Jordan. Jordan’s frustration has been building after spending months feeling overlooked. Eventually, being passed over became too much, causing her to snap and demand an opportunity at the championship. Grey eventually answered Jordan’s challenge, leading to the match. So, we’ll just have to see if Jordan can pull off the win, especially since Grey isn’t really at 100% heading into the match.
NXT North American Championship: Myles Borne (c) vs. Jackson Drake
Myles Borne’s first championship defense of the night comes against Jackson Drake, and this is where his double-duty problem begins. Drake defeated Shiloh Hill to get championship opportunities for himself and the entire Vanity Project. For Drake personally, that victory earned him a shot at Borne’s NXT North American Championship. So Borne will defend his title against Drake but that won’t be Borne’s only match on the card.
Other Matches
NXT Women’s North American Champion Zaria and WWE Women’s Speed Champion Wren Sinclair originally agreed to settle their issues in a Winner Takes All match. Both titles were put on the line with the intention of determining who truly deserved to stand above the other. Then Kali Armstrong forced her way into the equation, making it a triple threat.
Myles Borne will team with Tavion Heights to defend the NXT Tag Team Championships against former champions Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes of The Vanity Project. Finally, Nattie will square off against Jaida Parker in a submission match.
