WWE may already be setting up its next new character after filing a trademark that has fans guessing who could be getting a fresh name.
The company submitted a new trademark filing on April 28 for the name “Nox Raijin,” and the wording makes it clear the name is meant for an in-ring performer rather than just merchandise or branding. The filing specifically covers wrestling-related appearances and entertainment tied to a performer using the name.
“Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service.”
Right now, WWE hasn’t said who the name is meant for, which leaves plenty of room for speculation. That mystery has only grown because of when the filing happened.
The trademark came on the same day as the April 28 episode of NXT, which featured multiple debuts tied to WWE EVOLVE, WWE LFG, and former NJPW talent. With so many new faces showing up, fans are already wondering if “Nox Raijin” could belong to one of those newcomers.
Trademark filings like this usually show up before a debut or repackage, which means it could only be a matter of time before the name appears on WWE television.
