Jacob Fatu getting run over by a car on the September 28, 2026 edition of RAW wasn’t just another shocking Bloodline angle. According to a backstage report, the whole segment had a very specific purpose behind the scenes.
During a recent Q&A session, WrestleVotes was asked why WWE chose to write Fatu off television in such a dramatic way. According to the report, the hit-and-run angle was simply designed to get him off TV ahead of Money in the Bank, with no long-term absence expected.
“This was a way to get him off of Money in the Bank, much like Solo and, I believe, the Usos next week. That’s where they’re going.”
WrestleVotes went on to say fans shouldn’t expect Fatu to be gone for very long. As things currently stand, he’s expected back shortly after the premium live event.
“After Money in the Bank, you’ll see the return, so he’s not written off for months or anything like that.”
He also noted that WWE had to get a little creative because they’d already used some of their more over-the-top write-off angles recently, including Solo Sikoa getting kidnapped by the 946 last week.
“You couldn’t kidnap him since that was done already. You couldn’t light him on fire.”
Fatu’s write-off happened during the closing moments of the September 28 edition of RAW, when he chased Royce Keys into the parking lot following a wild brawl involving The Bloodline and The 946. Moments later, a black sedan plowed into Fatu before Jaida Parker stepped out of the vehicle, stood over him and declared, “Ain’t nobody safe.”
After this week’s episode of RAW went off the air, WWE released additional footage showing Fatu being loaded into an ambulance while Jimmy and Jey Uso climbed in to ride with their cousin as the vehicle left the arena.
If this information is accurate, though, fans won’t be waiting too long to see Fatu back on WWE television. Rather than hinting at a lengthy absence, the angle appears to have simply been WWE’s way of keeping him out of the Money in the Bank picture before bringing him back once the event is over.
