Willow Nightingale has now reacted publicly after announcing that she is vacating the AEW TBS Championship due to injury.
During the May 20, 2026 episode of AEW Dynamite / Collision, Nightingale revealed that she suffered a shoulder injury that will force her out of the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament and away from the ring for the time being. She also confirmed she was relinquishing the TBS Championship.
After the announcement aired, Nightingale took to Twitter/X and posted a photo of herself backstage holding the TBS Title while smiling at the camera. Along with the image, she wrote:
“Catch you on the flip side 😘”
The injury creates a major shakeup in AEW’s women’s division heading into AEW Double or Nothing, especially after the company had recently revealed the full bracket for the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
Nightingale had originally been scheduled to face Alex Windsor in the opening round before withdrawing from the tournament. AEW must now adjust the bracket while also determining how the vacant TBS Championship will be handled moving forward.
Despite the setback, Nightingale stated during Dynamite that she plans to return to the top of the division once she is medically cleared to compete again.
