Chad Gable is getting major respect from William Regal ahead of his new documentary series.

Gable has been in the spotlight lately after losing the Mask vs. Mask match at AAA Noche de Los Grandes on May 30, where he was forced to unmask as the Original El Grande Americano. Now, with his new documentary series The Renewal set to premiere this Friday, Regal is giving Gable his flowers. Regal took to Twitter and praised Gable after working with him for more than a decade.

“I’ve been fortunate to work with Chad for over a decade. An exceptional Pro in every sense and a diamond of a man. Very happy for him.”

That is big praise from someone like Regal, especially with Gable preparing to show fans a much deeper side of his comeback. Gable’s documentary will focus on the shoulder injury that sidelined him in June 2025 and kept him out for the rest of the year. He returned at the Royal Rumble as El Grande Americano, but the series will go behind the scenes of what it took to get there. Gable also explained that the injury forced him to stop and figure out who he was without wrestling being the center of everything.

“For the first time in my professional wrestling career, I was forced to stop and figure out who I am when the thing I’ve built my life around gets taken away.”

He said the nine-part series will follow his rehab, training, nutrition, setbacks, victories, and everything else that came with rebuilding himself.

“Starting this Friday, follow my 9-part YouTube series as I rebuild from the ground up through rehab, training, nutrition, setbacks, victories, and everything in between.”

Gable made it clear this will not be a fake polished comeback story either. He promised there would be no shortcuts, no excuses, and no pretending every day was a good day.

The timing is huge for Gable. His AAA Mask vs. Mask match aired after WWE RAW on Netflix, marking the first time a AAA match received that kind of showcase. Now, just days later, he is rolling out a personal documentary about the injury and comeback that helped shape this latest chapter of his career. Gable may have lost the mask, but he is clearly getting a lot of attention right now — and Regal’s praise only adds more weight to the moment.
