Road Dogg was at TNA Slammiversary, but that does not mean he has officially signed on yet.

That is the real story coming out of Boston. Brian “Road Dogg” James was backstage at the pay-per-view, but according to PWInsider, TNA still has some business to finish before he actually comes in.

“Road Dogg Brian James was backstage at the PPV. We are told he and the company are still ironing out a deal for him to come in.”

So the appearance was not the finish line. It was more of a sign that both sides are still close enough to keep talking. That matters because Road Dogg had already been linked to TNA before Slammiversary. The new part is not just that he was there. It is that the deal still is not done, even with him already around the company on one of its biggest nights.

TNA is also in the middle of a backstage reset after Tommy Dreamer’s exit as head of creative. Road Dogg had previously been talked about as a possible producer, but with the company still working through details, his exact role remains something to watch.

That makes this less of an arrival story and more of a waiting game. TNA has him close, but until the details are finished, Road Dogg’s next move is not locked in.

What kind of role do you think Road Dogg should have in TNA if the deal gets done? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
